The transition of body to corpse is usually followed by decomposition and the release of components back to the environment. This process, depending on the surrounding conditions, can be quick, slow, or partial. Sometimes it can even be completely halted, trapping otherwise useful material in a state of stasis. Considering that life is one continuous recycling movement, one could argue that all these dead animals have found themselves “in a pickle”.
